How to savor and save Christmas cards...

how to savor and save the best of Christmas cards

And just like that, the Christmas and holiday season is past us. Not sure about you, but I take my time putting all the Christmas decorations down and usually the last to be put away are the cards we receive. Ours are displayed in our kitchen around a door frame. The kids love looking at the photos and we loved reading all the family letters and updates most seemed to include this year. It was special to read about the ups, downs and adventures of 2020.

With that, I can’t seem to toss all the season greetings we receive because I know the time, care and money that goes into sending them. They are unique and extra special to our family. A few years back, my husband had the idea to keep and display the cards as each year passes by.

Here are some ways to savor and save the best of the cards you receive:

  1. Punch a hole in a corner of each card and bind them altogether with a binder ring (we do this). You could also punch two holes down the longer edge to make more of a book with two binder rings.

  2. Cut out the family photos to display in a photo album, on the fridge or to frame them! Most cards have room for you to trim out the family photo.

  3. If the card includes lettered or illustrated art, cut them out using them for frameable art to be displayed or repurpose as gift tags for next year!

  4. Make a keepsake! This company was shared with me to turn Christmas cards into ornaments.

  5. Take a photo of their photo for your phone contact list.
