An Autumn List of Favorites...
Beyond the buzz and craze over PSLs, I truly love Autumn. It’s been my favorite since I can remember, but as I get older, I feel the rush of each season and the grand expectations we create to make the seasons and holidays bigger and better.
The fact though, is sometimes the best for our hearts and minds can be found in the slow, steady and sweet.
I am raising kids in a different world than my mom. I feel the pressure to present them with grand experiences so early, but five years into parenthood, I can tell you confidently that my kids have the most fun at home with friends and family.
Here’s a list of my seasonal favorites for a simple and sweet experience:
Seasons can feel rushed and breeze by especially with young kids, a messy home and a business to run. I create seasonal bucket lists, not to celebrate seasons in lavish ways, but just the opposite. The prompts are to encourage us to slow down and savor the sweetness of life. See the Autumn Bucket List here.
This Autumn Chopped Salad is a staple since 9 years ago. I still remember making and enjoying it on the balcony of our rented condo when we first moved to Colorado. Now, this simple salad offers up the sweetest memories.
Made these pumpkin donuts last year and I’m never trying a new recipe again.
Ask my friends and they’ll tell you about how I always make this chili when they’re over for a football Sunday,
I’ll never burn another pumpkin spice candle than this one.
Mostly my list is made up of food. I hope we can enjoy each season simply and sweetly.
with joy,
